Interviews are fun
Life sucks after u graduate. This week, I have 4 interviews to attend, one of them I didn't go because it's too far (Rawang haha jauhnye). I have one more tomorrow, with Texas Instrument. Yang peliknye aku ingat aku apply utk satu position nih, tapi end up kena panggil utk positin laen. So I'm a little confused now. Anyway, just pegi dulu and see how it goes.
The first two interviews I had was interesting, mainly because the position doesn't have anything to do with engineering. So it's something new for me. For Nestle, I had to sit for 2 gruesome hours answering questions related to management. Just when I thought that everything was over, they called in again for another group disccusion. There we sat down as a group pretending to be coworkers discussing about organizing a business plan for a new product. Apa lagi, habis keluar sumer kepoyoan and penipuan. There's this one girl, rasanye mmg business major. nampak power gile, habis keluar term2 yg kalau org mcm aku nih takkan tau nye lah.. It felt so intimidating. I still had fun tho.
For Petronas, I was given a case study and had to discuss about it. Then the interviewer and I played a role playing game, where I was the Product Manager of the company and had to deal with customer and supervisor (both acted by the interviewer). It was very exciting, but scary at the same time sbb takde knowledge and I just relied on common sense. Dah la the other 3 candidates majored in Marketing. Still, my main purpose is to gain interview experience, and I definitely enjoyed this one.
Sempat jumpak Yus and ajak dia ke Ulu Yam this weekend. Dia kata nak bawak joran nak memancing ikan.. Bley aje Yus, tapi ikan bilis je la kot hehe.
Splish splash and gathering
Just got back from Sg Congkak. Yes, I went again for the 2nd time in a week. This time it was for my MRSMBP reunion. Didn't think I'd make it in the first place coz I had an interview this morning with WD. But, amazingly I was done with the interview at around 9. I learnt my mistake the first time at Sony interview. So this time I came at 8 even though the paper said 9, filled out the forms, gave my certs, wait for about 10 minutes, then wallah came the interview. Same and few questions so far, so didn't have problem answering. Called Zaki yg baek hati, came down all the way to pick me up and there I was, back in Sg Congkak haha..
Met a lot of my old friends. The food has been prepared by a few people, so we had to pay 10 bucks. We also did barbeque there, though I didn't give a helping hand that much, mostly a helping mouth hehe. It was really fun to meet old friends, a lot of old memories resurfaced from my head. LALALA. Too bad I didn't bring my camera, so later I need to ask pictures from those who brought. I know hadi has a website, so probably later can curik from him hehe.
Tomorrow, back to PJ Hilton for my 2nd interview with Nestle haha.. I wonder what to tell them if they ask me why am I interested into management.. Will be thinking about it tonight.
Another week of boredom
I managed to get into INSEP, a training program sponsored by SHRDC (Selangor HR Development Center). The program is a collaboration between the Selangor State Government and industrial companies. Basically, what I will do for the next year is to undergo a 6-month training in SHRDC, then another 6 months on job training in a company that will offer me a job. I chose Industrial Automation, not really sure what sort things I will handle in detail. Nonetheless, its just a training program and I dont think it'll be that difficult. I knew about this from my old friend whom I met in Penang during the Sony interview. Tenks dude. The best thing about the program is that you can quit if you have a job offer or if you are to lazy to attend, provided that you do it the right way i.e write a letter. But if you go on and complete the program, you will definitely get a job with one of the companies they collaborated with, like JVC, Texas Instruments, NEC, Sony, etc. Then you shouldn't have any problem whatsoever. I should start next Monday, but I have 2 interviews going on Monday and Tuesday. So I might be going only on Wednesday.
Anyway, weekend is here. This is the only time where I can lepak with my friends. Other times, ie during the weekdays they'll be busy at work. Ah yes, this weekend, there will be a gathering for those who were in MRSMBP 97/98. The place? Sg Congkak. Haha, baru je pegi ngan elly sume.. Pergi lagi lalala..
Interview calls are exciting LOL
Should I take the job in Penang if I get it? That would be a tough question to answer. The reason I was willing to go all the way to Penang was just because I wanted to get my first interview experience. Even if the pay is 2500, is it worth it? I used to love Penang, only because I lost touch with all my old friends in PJ. Now, most of my friends are here so I will lose my friends again if I work in Penang. However I still love Penang though. Though decision indeed.
Today alone, I got 3 phone calls. Two of them asked me to go for an interview. I didnt expect to get thru for Nestle because I did bad for the test. The other one was from a company located in Rawang. I didn't even remember applying for the job. Moreover, I didn't remember the company's name when the guy mentioned it to me. So embarassing. There was definitely a moment of ackwardness between the two of us.. The timing for all 3 calls were all wrong, the former when I was waiting for the LRT and the latter when I was going down the escalator. The last one also caught me off guard. I was like "lalala" when suddenly a lady from Petronas called me at 6 something asking me a few questions. Not that it was difficult, but when you weren't ready, even the simplest question could be a struggle to you. Apa lagi, ckp je la apa yg pass thru my mind, tapi rasa mcm takde meaning je.. haha. buat malu je.. I can expect a lot more phone calls from other companies, now that most applications have closed. Fingers crossed..
Anyway, tomorrow is a holiday. Kesian ade org nak plan2 tapi ended up cancelling the plan. Jgn emo lagi ye..
Penang was fun
Came back from the Sony interview at Penang sometime around 5. Reaching KL took about 4 hrs+ but once I was in KL, it took like an hour to reach Pudu. The traffic was terrible, I ended up walking before the bus reached Pudu up to Pasar Seni LRT station. When i passed thru Petaling Street, a chinese guy approached me, saying something in chinese. I get that a lot here, yet I'm still not used to that kind of situation. It felt ackward all the time.
Anyway, I made a few friends at Penang. All including me have the same situation: took the bus at midnight from our respective places, hoping to reach Penang next morning just in time for the interview. Well all of us got our wishes, but probably got too much. I reached at 5 am at Komtar and the hotel was just around the corner, and I left at 1 am. Damn crazy driver nak bunuh org ka! One guy even arrived at 3 am!.. Haha I also met a few of my old friends, one from MRSM (dZul) and the other was my primary skool fren (Safwan). there were thousands of people swarming to the hotel. Konon shortlisted. Kat hotel tu tulis "walk-in", mana la tak ramai.. I think I saw Kong Hong (tak sure nama betol). Anyway the place was a mess.
Stayed a night at dZul's place. lucky for me to meet him, otherwise probably I would just go back right after the interview. So, that nite we went up north, where it got hit by the tsunami.. bersih and ok je, kalau tgk mmg tak tau yg tempat tu kena.. everything looked new.. even the place we hung out was highly decorated.. penang was really different than it used to be 7 years ago.. haha.. lama gile tak pegi..
Anyway, now I'm back in PJ, looking for other jobs that are close by. bile training ngan tenaga nih? hmmm.. lalala

whenever i start writing, that means i have something else to do. nothing special and important really, just an interview. in fact, tomorrow will be my 2nd interview in a row. well since i mentioned it, it would only be the 1st. just now, i wont call it an interview since it was just questionares. damn, it really felt like i was back in school. there were 2 parts of session: comprehension and mathematics. haha. punya la ingat pegi interview je, ended up macam masok exam hall. everyone looked so stiff haha.. i couldn't care less now..
anyway, i did enjoyed my time yesterday at taiping. it was a blast. thanks hafiz sbb belanja semua. and elly for the show (kidding) and matde for ... err i dunno, for the kentut u gave us?.. went there all the way to get a haircut. funny isn't it? hehe.. still didn't get enough sleep since yesterday and my body is aching now.. i definitely have not been working out as of late.. well, definitely we need to do this once in a while, just to have fun and waste some money..
i will be leaving for penang tonight.. i am not nervous or afraid at all, well for the moment hehe.. its just that i hope i wont try too hard.. just get over with it.. got everything i needed to know from the boss.. "try not to be cocky and arrogant, answer honestly, don't care too much on the grammar, etc".. haha.. sometimes we try to speak perfectly, but since u couldn't find the words to say, you ended up saying things that are different than what you really meant.. so i can selamba lah say like this what.. as long as u faham what i say, then setel lorrr..
i think i need to get some sleep, but the chickens kept on crowing.. enough already LOL.. penang here i come.. (missing my maktab now)
