Hakam upon Tyne
Tell me when was the last time you saw a rainbow? I totally forgot it existed until I saw one this morning. Priceless and such a beauty, really, I don’t recall the last time I saw one, years and years ago perhaps and who would have thought I’d see one here in gloomy and rainy Aberdeen. Spent my weekend in Newcastle for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, last week was just a waste but fun trip but this time we actually toured around the city and enjoyed the nice scenery throughout the entire day. Newcastle played at home so we came into the city right before the game ended, so the traffic wasn’t that bad. Good thing the won the game too.. so everyone seemed in high spirits and Yusra was there as well so there we were, 3 ex-sunway students, including Ellina both whom I haven’t met in 5 years. Both of them don’t change at all, so I guess I am the only one who has grown fatter and older over the years, or was it the other way round? HeheRemember there were a number of artistic picture taken a few years ago by a guy called Spencer Tunic who amassed thousands of people for his project on the millennium bridge between Newcastle and Gateshead and got them to strip off their clothes and pose. I think he’s done that similar kind of project a number of times various places in the UK. It’s quite fascinating to see pictures of naked people doing all sorts of different positions. Seeing a few naked people on the beach is one thing, but seeing thousands of them right in the middle of a city right by the river is another. I wanted to bring back the catalogue but you’ll probably say I’m a horny bastard so on 2nd thought I said that’s ok then.
Someone informed that Newcastle is ranked as one of the best nighttime places in the world to hangout, so we went out and checked to see whether or not it’s true. Well, there were countless places you can go for sure, the bars and pubs are just everywhere, even the kebab shops. There were heaps of people walking up and down the street as well, and they speak really funny accent.. called Jordy (spelling?) or something like dat.. mache ore kecek kelate ler laen skek sampe tak fahe ape2.. We ended up at a place and suffice to say that it was good and fun night. The mountains and valleys in Newcastle are unexplainable somehow huhu. Best thing was you can smoke in the pubs here because it’s England!! Haha.. Too bad you Scottish smokers have to smoke outside of the bars and pubs now since the ban commenced in March 26th. Shuh shuh.. In conclusion: Newcastle is great!
Thanks Ellina and friends.. thank you guys for being such a really kind and good host! We’ll make this a weekend trip so ill see you again next week haha..
Watching the F1 race for the first time this year felt so surreal to me. Well the tv was actually watching me, I was on and off during the race, everytime I woke up there'll be a safety car on the track. I did remember a scene when Michael Schumacher came out from the final corner behind Button and was a little off the track, then suddenly hit a bump on the side of the track and the end.. The car shattered into pieces as it hit the wall. So out you go the safety car. Funny thing was a few laps after that I think someone crashed again at the same spot.. kesian mamat yg dah bersihkan all the debris kena bersih lagi skali.. In the end, Alonso emerged victorious with Raikonnen trailing him.. It'll be a great battle between the two young prolific drivers.
Woke up the next morning and head back sometime in the afternoon. Then we stopped at Glasgow for a few hours, had a good Thai food there for dinner, bid farewell to a friend who should now be in Amsterdam by now, drove back home to Aberdeen, chatted with a friend and two hours later, here I am in the office. I’m feeling a little stoned rite now, and I think I need a lot of coffee to get through the day without sleeping on the desk. Well there you go!
pictures will be posted soon.. still waiting for my usb cable aiyaa
Can’t wait to go home and sleep..
